Rapid has a wholly-owned subsidiary and two international licensees   Rapid Engineering Inc., an employee-owned company, is an innovative leader in providing high-efficiency building air management systems as well as products and services for industrial paint and finishing systems. Subsidiary Bananza Air Management Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rapid Engineering Inc., is located in Kentwood, MI, and occupies a 32,000 square foot building. Air make-up units with capacities of 1,000 to 35,000 cfm are assembled at this facility. Licensees Rapid Engineering also has a global presence. Its affiliate Seoul Heating (Seoul, Keora) covers the Asian market while PC Rapid (Harrogate, England) covers the European market.   Rapid's state-of-the-art manufacturing plant encompasses 91,000 sq.ft.   Our Facility Rapid's corporate facility, located in Comstock Park, MI, contains complete design, manufacturing, installation, parts and service, and administrative services departments. Built in 1987, the building has 91,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing operations. Engineering and design via current versions of drafting and CAD software networked throughout the facility allows the use of proven design and manufacturing technology including laser cutting of parts and subassemblies. Technical Services Product design is done in compliance with national, regional, local, and industrial/technical codes and standards. Computer-aided design, including 2D and 3D capability, is used throughout the engineering design process; facility networks and external e-mail provide “instantaneous” transmittal of data and drawings to customers worldwide.   Rapid's manufactures HVAC systems in sizes ranging from 3,000 to 12,000 CFM   Rapid Air Management Division (RAM) Products: RAM designs and manufactures direct-fired, indirect-fired, electric, steam/hot water HVAC systems. The direct-fired air management systems feature positive building pressurization controlled by a proprietary direct digital controller. In addition, Rapid also provides non-DDC controls as well as special-needs products for, among others, the automotive, food/pharmaceutical and construction industries. Applications: Rapid's air management systems are installed worldwide in factories, warehouses, garages, aircraft hangers and large indoor sports arenas. Heated or cooled air can be provided from 3,000 cfm to 120,000 cfm in single units. Heating and air make-up units for commercial and light industrial warehousing applications are installed nationwide in automobile refinishing booths, large kitchens and manufacturing facilities.   Rapid's manufactures finishing systems and components for a wide variety of markets   Industrial Finishing Group (IFG) Products: IFG designs and manufactures industrial finishing systems and their individual components, including pre-treatment washers, dry-off ovens, powder application rooms, make-up air units, cure ovens, conveyor systems and cooling tunnels. In addition, IFG produces a complete line of batch system products, including pretreatment stations, washers and ovens. Batch ovens up to 12'x12'x50' are available for delivery in 5 weeks. And many of these products are available in Install-It-Yourself (I-I-Y) versions which can save customers up to 30% off the cost of pre-assembled versions. Applications: IFG's industrial finishing systems are extensively used by manufacturers of metal and plastic parts for the automobile, furniture, material handling, architectural and recreational products markets. Coatings used in these systems include “wet”, e-coat and powder and the substrate materials include metal, plastic, wood, MDF, and leather. Systems and special equipment also are manufactured for companies providing finishing and coating services under contract where process versatility and wide variation in part material and size is required. Systems for powder coating Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) have been successfully designed and installed for interior office furniture markets.
